Former Researchers

Dr. Consuelo Martínez-Reyes, Centro’s postdoctoral research assistant, is working with the Centro Archives to research writers Pedro Pietri, Jack Agüeros, Tato Laviera and Víctor Fragoso. Her focus is to analyze literary, theatrical and TV representations of Puerto Ricans growing up in New York City.

 

 

Dr. Patricia Silver has been a Centro research associate since 2010. She holds an MA and PhD in cultural anthropology from American University in Washington, D.C., an MA in Comparative Literature from the University of Washington and a BA from Princeton University. Since 2006, she has conducted ethnographic research in Orlando, Florida.

 

 

 

Andres Torres

Andre's (Andy) Torres is Research Associate at the Center for Puerto Rican Studies, Hunter College of The City University of New York. He was on leave from Centro during 2008-2009 as Interim Director of the CUNY Latino Faculty Initiative. During 2007-2008 he served as Centro's Interim Director.

 

 

Raquel Z. Rivera was a Researcher at the Center for Puerto Rican Studies. She has a Ph.D. in Sociology from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York and an M.A. in Puerto Rican Studies from the Centro de Estudios Avanzados de Puerto Rico y el Caribe, San Juan, Puerto Rico

Pedro Pedraza B.A. , Sociology, 1968, Occidental College, Los Angeles, California ABD, Sociology, 1973, Columbia University. Pedro Pedraza is on the board of the Youth Action Program and The East Harlem Tutorial Program and the advisory board to the After School Corporation and New Visions.
