Voices Submission Guidelines

Share your work in Centro Voices!

Centro Voices seeks writing on topics about the Puerto Rican experiences in the United States. We welcome creative nonfiction, fiction, poetry, translation, and art. We accept simultaneous submissions and previously published work. Work that is accepted for publishing will be paid. 

Submission Guidelines

▪ Email your submission as an attachment to centro.voices@hunter.cuny.edu.

▪ Your submission must be in .doc or .docx format in Arial 12-point font

▪ Articles should be between 500 and 1,500 words in length.

▪ Do not imbed any artwork (images, tables, and/or videos) into the text. Send artwork as separate .jpg files and indicate where in the text it should appear. Provide any necessary captions and credits. Note: Videos should not be MOV files. Any images or videos that are not the property of the author must be accompanied by a copyright clearance.

▪ Your submission must follow Chicago Manual of Style guidelines.

▪ Any references must be presented as endnotes.

Editorial Policy

All Voices content is subject to CUNY guidelines and regulations.

▪ No submissions that endorse a political party, candidate, or view.

▪ No pornographic material

▪ No hate speech

▪ No libelous material

All copyrights remain with the author, with a copyright permit for use by Centro Voices granted by the authors.
