Upcoming Conference: Critical Perspectives on Puerto Ricans and Dominicans in the U.S.

On May, 1, 2015, Centro and the CUNY Dominican Studies Institute (CUNY DSI) will host a conference highlighting research on the interactions between Dominicans and Puerto Ricans in the U.S. Centro and DSI joined forces on this shared initiative to disseminate new findings on the issues that affect New York’s two largest Latino groups.

A group of scholars from around the country will discuss recent developments on a variety of topics on issues ranging from intermarriage and inter-ethnic relations, nutrition, educational attainment, economic mobility, successes and challenges that affect these groups. This event is coordinated by CUNY DSI Director Ramona Hernández, Centro Director Edwin Meléndez, and Centro Research Associate Carlos Vargas-Ramos.
