Thirty-Seventh Annual Conference of the New York State Association for Bilingual Education (NYSABE)

“Educating our Next Generation of Biliterate Citizens” is the theme of a two-day conference in Queens that will focus on providing teachers, parents, and educational leaders’ with the strategies and tools necessary to educate a new generation.

Four distinguished pioneers in the bilingual education field will also be memorialized at the conference: José A. Vázquez (1936-2012); Aurea E. Rodríguez (1932-2013); Anthony Amato (1947-2013); and Luis A. Cartagena (1937-2013).

The conference will offer presentations, roundtable discussions and special sessions on current topics such as the Common Core State Standards, the NYS Seal of Biliteracy, data driven instruction and the role of instructional leadership in ensuring quality bilingual education programs. It is an opportunity for teachers, professors, administrators, paraprofessionals, parents, graduate students and publishers share their knowledge, experience and expertise with others in the field of bilingual education.
